The German Federation of Materials Science and Engineering (BV MatWerk) and the German Research Foundation (DFG) call for applications of young researchers aiming at a 12 month stay in a German institution.

Entitled for this program are young researchers working in the field of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) who obtained an advanced degree after January 2010 and are currently affiliated with a European research institution or university outside Germany.

The program includes a certain number of grants to cover the expenses in Germany. Candidates should apply before December 31th, 2011. The selection process will be carried out continuously by BV MatWerk and DFG in a first come, first serve basis. During their stay in Germany the participants will be invited for a workshop to be held in Berlin.

Applications should include:

•    short description of the project you want to develop in Germany (max. 2 pages);

•    a letter of acceptance of the German host institution, where you intend to carry out your research;

•    a short CV with a list of the last 5 relevant publications (max. 2 pages);

•    two letters of recommendation
